Delicious and Unique Indian-Style Sandwich Recipes

Sandwiches are a versatile and much-loved snack that can be made in countless ways to suit your taste. Here, I’m sharing three flavorful sandwich recipes with an Indian twist that are easy to make and packed with taste: Dahi Sandwich, Malai Sandwich (savory and sweet versions), and Dahi Bread Sandwich. These recipes combine the goodness of vegetables, curd (yogurt), and malai (cream) with our favorite Indian spices to create something truly special.


1. Dahi Bread Sandwich - Classic Style 




Ingredients:

- Chopped vegetables: onion, green chili, tomato, cabbage leaves, capsicum, corn, paneer (use veggies you like)

- Thick curd (strained using a muslin cloth to remove water)

- Salt, coriander powder, and other preferred spices


Method:

1. Finely chop all the vegetables.

2. Take thick curd in a bowl (after straining the water out using a muslin cloth).

3. Mix the curd with the vegetables and spices.

4. Spread the mixture between slices of bread.

5. Prepare a tempering (tadka) using mustard seeds and curry leaves. You can also do this on a tawa (griddle) or in a sandwich maker.

6. Toast the sandwich until golden brown and crispy.

7. Serve hot!


2. Dahi Bread Toast (Dipped Style)



Ingredients:

- Thick curd

- Finely chopped small onions and green chilies

- Salt, red chili powder, coriander powder

- Tempering: oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies


Method:

1. In a bowl, mix curd, onions, chilies, and spices.

2. Prepare a tempering (tadka) with oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and optionally green chilies.

3. Pour the tempering into the curd mixture.

4. Dip bread slices into this mixture, making sure they are fully coated.

5. Toast the dipped bread on a tawa until golden and crisp.

6. Your delicious snack is ready!



3. Malai Sandwich – (Savory & Sweet)


Savory Version




Ingredients:

- Chopped vegetables: onion, green chili, tomato, cabbage leaves, capsicum, corn, paneer

- Thick malai (fresh cream)

- Salt, spices of choice, green chili sauce, red chili sauce


Method:

1. Mix all the chopped vegetables in a bowl.

2. Add thick malai and sauces with your favorite spices.

3. Stuff this mixture between slices of bread.

4. Toast in a sandwich maker or on a tawa until golden brown.

5. Serve hot and enjoy!


Sweet Version




Ingredients:

- Bread slices

- Thick malai (fresh cream)

- Sugar


Method:

1. Spread thick malai and sugar on bread slices.

2. Toast lightly on a tawa or sandwich maker until golden.

3. This simple and sweet malai sandwich is ready to serve!
