As temperatures rise and hot winds make daily life uncomfortable, keeping your body cool and hydrated becomes essential. One simple and effective way to beat the heat is by drinking mint lemon shikanji. This traditional summer drink not only refreshes instantly but also helps protect the body from heat-related issues like dehydration and fatigue.

Why Mint Lemon Shikanji is Perfect for Summer

Mint and lemon together create a powerful cooling combination. Lemon is rich in vitamin C and helps in detoxifying the body, while mint has natural cooling properties that soothe the stomach and refresh the mind. Drinking this regularly during hot days can help maintain energy levels and prevent heat exhaustion.

Ingredients You Will Need

To prepare this refreshing drink, you will need:

2 fresh lemons

A handful of fresh mint leaves

2–3 tablespoons sugar (adjust as per taste)

A pinch of black salt

A pinch of roasted cumin powder

A pinch of regular salt

2–3 glasses of cold water

Ice cubes (optional)

Step-by-Step Preparation Method

Start by extracting juice from the lemons into a bowl. Make sure to remove any seeds.

Take fresh mint leaves and crush them slightly using your hands or grind them into a paste for stronger flavor.

Add sugar, black salt, regular salt, and roasted cumin powder to the lemon juice. Mix everything well until the sugar dissolves completely.

Now add cold water and stir properly.

Add crushed mint leaves or mint paste into the mixture and mix again.

Pour the drink into glasses, add ice cubes if desired, and serve immediately.

This drink is not just tasty but also highly beneficial for your health. It helps in digestion, keeps the body hydrated, and reduces the impact of heat. The combination of lemon and mint also boosts immunity and gives a natural energy lift.

The roots of dowry in South Asia are complicated. Historically, texts mention stridhan  (woman’s property) which was meant for the bride’s security, and in some communities, there was even a system of bride price where the groom’s family paid the bride’s family. However, during the ...
